What to Expect

Here's what happens during your visit, so you can come prepared and feel at ease.

Your sinus evaluation begins with a thorough history and in-office nasal endoscopy, allowing direct visualization of your nasal passages and sinus openings. A CT scan of the sinuses provides detailed anatomy and disease mapping. We exhaust medical therapy first — including saline irrigation, topical steroid sprays, antibiotics when indicated, and biologic injections for polyp patients. When medical management fails, we discuss surgical options ranging from balloon dilation to full endoscopic sinus surgery. All procedures use image-guidance for maximum safety and precision. Post-operative care includes debridement visits and long-term maintenance protocols.

When to See a Doctor

See our sinus specialists if you have had nasal congestion, facial pressure, or discolored drainage lasting more than 12 weeks despite treatment, if you suffer from four or more sinus infections per year, or if you have persistent nasal obstruction that affects breathing, sleep, or exercise. Patients looking for sinus surgery in Massachusetts should seek a board-certified otolaryngologist with specialized training in endoscopic techniques.
