Harness Your Body's Healing Power — PRP Regenerative Therapy

PRP therapy harnesses your body's own healing factors to accelerate tissue repair and regeneration in ENT applications. Concentrated platelets from your own blood are injected into areas of chronic inflammation, poor healing, or tissue damage. This regenerative medicine approach offers a natural, low-risk option for conditions like chronic ear drum perforations, vocal cord scarring, and post-surgical healing.

What to Expect

Here's what happens during your visit, so you can come prepared and feel at ease.

The PRP process begins with a simple blood draw (approximately 20-60 mL) from your arm. This blood is centrifuged in-office to concentrate the platelets and growth factors into a small volume of plasma. The PRP is then precisely injected into the target tissue using fine needles, often under endoscopic or microscopic guidance depending on the application. The procedure takes about 30-45 minutes total. You may experience mild swelling and discomfort at the injection site for 24-48 hours. Healing and tissue regeneration occur gradually over weeks to months, with some patients requiring 2-3 treatment sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart for optimal results.

When to See a Doctor

PRP therapy may benefit patients with chronic conditions that have not responded to conventional treatment, those seeking to enhance healing after ENT surgery, or individuals interested in regenerative medicine approaches to ear, nose, and throat disorders. If you have a persistent eardrum perforation, vocal cord scarring, or chronic nasal mucosal damage, ask our Massachusetts ENT specialists whether PRP could be incorporated into your treatment plan.
