What to Expect

Here's what happens during your visit, so you can come prepared and feel at ease.

Your evaluation includes a comprehensive head and neck examination with flexible endoscopy to visualize the upper aerodigestive tract. Imaging studies such as CT, MRI, and PET scans are ordered as needed. A biopsy confirms the diagnosis and determines the tumor type and stage. We present complex cases at our multidisciplinary tumor conference where surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, and pathologists collaborate on your treatment plan. Treatment options range from minimally invasive surgery and radiation to combined modality therapy, tailored to your specific diagnosis and stage.

Schedule a prompt evaluation if you notice a persistent lump in your neck, unexplained hoarseness lasting more than two weeks, difficulty swallowing, a sore in the mouth that does not heal, unexplained ear pain on one side, or a history of tobacco and alcohol use with new throat symptoms. Early detection significantly improves outcomes in head and neck cancer.
